Richard Bennetti, long-time member and resident of Dewberry Village, passed away on Friday, February 28.

Richard was born in 1946, and was the son of Angelica and Adolph Bennetti of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. He graduated from the Brooklyn Academy and went on to play Football at the University of South Carolina.

Richard started his career in the Stock Market doing all manner of jobs working his way up to become one of the most successful stock traders in the market; and for a time, established his own company called Brick Securities.

While working at various securities firms, Richard achieved a reputation as an honest and decent colleague who also mentored many young men and women entering the business. That goodness and generosity of spirit also marked his whole life.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Myrna, of 48 years, his adored son Andrew of San Marcos, California, his brother Robert and sister-in-law Maryanne of Palm city, Florida, brother-in-law, Sandy Zuckerwise of New York City, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a profound sense of loss within the securities business and all his friends at Harbour Ridge.

Final arrangements will be at the Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City. Guests will gather on Tuesday, March 3, from 12:30-1:30 PM, with a prayer service beginning at
1:30 PM at Forest Hills (2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Barstow Reed Society of the Cleveland Clinic Martin Memorial Foundation.
