Obituary of Richard Burton
Richard G. Burton, 81, of Palm City, died April 20, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Bronxville, NY, and had been a resident of Palm City for 6 years, having moved from Forked River and Basking Ridge, NJ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a salesman for Converse Shoes before retirement. He was an avid boater and fisherman and held a USCG Captains License.
Survivors include his daughters, Susan Burton van der Meulen of Port St. Lucie and Jill Burton Szklany of Palm City; son, Rich Burton of Palm City; sister, Alice Burdick of NY; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and his beloved dog, Savannah.
Services: Graveside service, 1:00PM , Friday, April 23, 2010, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, with Pastor Matt Pilot officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34996, in Richard's memory.
