Richard D.
Hanson
Mar 8, 1944 — Oct 27, 2026
In Loving Memory With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother-in-law, on October 27, 2026.
Born in Seattle, Washington, on March 8, 1944, he was a man whose kindness, humor, and unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a gift for making people laugh and a way of bringing lightness and joy wherever he went. Funny, kind, and endlessly entertaining, he was a much-loved presence in every room he entered and a person who made life a little brighter for those lucky enough to know him. Of course, no tribute to him would be complete without mentioning his trademark missing finger—and the seemingly endless supply of jokes he managed to find in that lost digit. Whether he was cracking a joke at his own expense or finding yet another opportunity to make someone laugh, he turned it into a memorable part of who he was. That missing finger became much more than a physical distinction; it was the source of countless laughs, stories, and moments that those who knew him will never forget. It was just one more example of his ability to find humor in life and share it generously with everyone around him.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; his son, Scott (Karin), and grandchildren Jack (Janel) and Maggie; his daughter, Nicki (Jake), and grandson Lincoln; his Sister-in-Law, Mary and his nephew Tom. His love, laughter, and the memories he created with his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember, honor, and share stories and jokes about a man who made such a lasting impact on so many lives. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
