Obituary of Richard Lott

Richard E. Lott, 60, of Stuart, Florida, passed away August 3, 2013. Richard was born in Warwick, Rhode Island and moved to St. Petersburg with his family as a teenager. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School, the University of South Florida and the St. Persburg Polic Adacemy.

After graduating from college, Richard joined the St. Petersburg Police Department where he proudly served his community for four years. He later worked as a real estate agent before going to work for Allstate Insurance Company. He worked for Allstate for thirty three years. While working at Allstate he met his wife and best friend, Cheryl. Together they raised two incredible children, Brian and Morgan. Richard retired from Allstate in 2011 as a Territorial Sales Manager.

Richard was a kind and generous man. He had a quick wit and always loved a good joke. He was a friend to all he met. Much to his family's surprise he always remembered and acknowledged birthdays, anniversaries and special events of all family members.

In addition to his wife and children, Richard is survived by his brothers Jim (Nancy), Tom and sister Barbara Herbach (Mike) and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997, or at 772/403-4530 or on line at www.tchospices.org.
