Dr. Richard A. Okerholm, 75, of Palm City, FL, passed away on November 16, 2016 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Harper House, Stuart, FL.
Born in Woburn, MA, he had been a resident of Palm City for 17 years coming from West Chester, OH and prior to that Ann Arbor, MI.
He received degrees from Lowell Technological University, Lowell, MA and his doctorate from Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, MA.
Before retiring he was biochemist with Parke-Davis, Marion Merrill Dow and as an independent contractor.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. And the Monarch Country Club, Palm City.
Survivors include his wife, Rita V. Okerholm; his daughter, Heidi Okerholm Ovalle and her husband Manny of Palm Bay, FL; his son, Erik P. Okerholm and his wife April of Austin, TX; his grandson Christian Okerholm of Austin; his granddaughter, Sydney K. Okerholm of Austin; his brother Paul F. Okerholm of West Gardiner, ME and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Okerholm and his mother, Elizabeth Johnston Okerholm.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
