Richard N. Tinker, 80, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on November 2, 2019. He was born in Providence, RI and had been a resident of Palm City for 26 years, having relocated from Connecticut. He was a graduate of Brown University and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Palm City and served in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Kiernan. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Tinker of Mountain View, CA; step-daughter, Jennifer Kiernan (Gerard) of Keene, NH; step-sons, Raymond Kuntz III (Lea) of Red Lodge, MT and Thomas Kuntz (Eliza) of Red Lodge, MT; brother, Roberts Tinker (Betty) of Goodyear, AZ; nephew, Michael Tinker (Jodi) and his family, Will and Paul of Buckeye, AZ; grandchildren, Nina, Emmett, Thomas, Maya, Margot and Allie.
Richard was passionate about his family, church, and golf. He loved spending time with family particularly his grandchildren and was grateful for them visiting him in Florida. His homemade tomato sauce and his famous chicken Parmesan were loved by everyone. He served as a Verger and was deeply committed to the community and institution of the church. He was an avid golfer, enjoying the game and the camaraderie.
Richard loved to travel, taking road trips to visit family and friends throughout the country. He enjoyed painting and sketching and looked forward to painting special holiday and birthday cards. He practiced and taught Tai chi. Music and singing were prominent in his life. He loved participating in church choirs and belonged to the Jabberwalks Acapella Group while at Brown University.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Palm City, Florida.
