Obituary of Rita Simpkins
Rita L. Simpkins, 84, of Palm City, died August 23, 2008 at Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart.
Born in Minersville, Pennsylvania she had been a resident of Stuart and Palm City for 42 years coming from New Canaan, Connecticut.
She received a bachelors degree from Penn State, majoring in home economics. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and was an avid fan of Penn State Football.
She was a homemaker but had been a flight attendant for TWA for a short time.
She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Stuart Yacht and Country Club. She was current living at Sand Hill Cove, Palm City. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.
Survivors include sons, Donald Simpkins of Chesterfield, Missouri and Rob Simkins of Palm City; a daughter Deborah Mazza of Trumbull, Connecticut; sisters, Betty Ebersold of Palm Beach, Franchesca Farley of Palm Beach and Joann Stutz of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Roy Simpkins and a son Gregort Simpkins.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 AM August 29, 2008 at Forest Hills Funeral Home Palm City Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, August 29, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
