Obituary of Robert Allen
Robert S. Allen, 87, of Palm City, Florida, died September 11, 2011, at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay-Madeira House, Stuart, Florida.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was a resident of Palm City for 21 years coming from Orlando, Florida. He was a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater.
Prior to retirement he was a petroleum engineer, during which time he lived and worked in many locations around the world.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Hollings of Juno Beach, Florida, Susan Allen of Palm City, Gwyneth Miller of San Ramon, California and Elizabeth Allen of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Allen.
SERVICES: Services will be private for the family with interment and military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
