Robert (Bob) Andersen

1/26/1953-06/23/2007

We lost a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend today. Bob was born to George and Betty Joyce (Jae) Andersen. He married the love of his life Diane and together they were blessed with an amazing son, Justin.

Although Bob was diagnosed with cancer over a year ago, he never gave up. His passion for life was strong each and every day. His commitment to life and the belief that he could beat this rotten disease should inspire all of us. We are so proud of his will, his commitment and his sheer determination. Thank you for all youve taught us Bob!

A little about Mr. Bob Andersen:

Bob was a pilot before he was anything else! He qualified for his pilots license when he was only 15 yrs. old, but had to wait a year to start flying because 16 was the legal age to become a licensed pilot. He was a champion aircraft builder, winning national awards for his rainbow-striped Christen Eagle II, which resides in his garage today. His lifelong love of flying was passed on to his son, Justin. He taught Justin to fly and was so very proud of Justins many awards in aerobatic competitions and most recently his being hired as one of Japan Airlines youngest pilots. Bobs passion for flying will live on through Justin for many years to come.

Bob graduated from Highland High in 1971. The friends he made as a young man continued throughout his life. He may not have had any blood brothers, but he had so many friends who were honored to call him their brother in friendship. He will be remembered as not just a friend but as family by those who loved him.

Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Diane and son, Justin, of Florida, mother, Betty Joyce (Jae) Andersen of Utah, sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Mark Seklemian of Virginia, Uncle and Aunt, Don and Ruth Jerman of Az., and Aunt Mabel Walkinshaw of Utah.

We love you Bob and even though the skies seem a little darker for us, the Heavens are brighter because youve arrived. What a flight its been!

A Gathering and Celebration of Bobs Life will be held at 6 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the familys residence in Palm City.
