Obituary of Robert Loomis
ROBERT L. (BOB) LOOMIS 83 passed away April 21st, 2014 in Mt. Dora, Florida after a valiant fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late Percy and Sara Loomis on April 9th, 1931 in Chicago, IL. Bob graduated from Calument High School and attended Purdue University.
He served in the Army during the Korean War as a Master Sargent.
Bob came to Florida in 1956, he was a business owner, salesman, real estate broker and contractor.
Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
He was an avid boater, model train enthusiast and devoted many hours volunteering at the Mt. Dora Chamber of Commerce.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marjorie, his sister, Joan Doherty, husband William of St. Charles, IL., five children Susan Monaghan, husband Craig of Palm City, Kenneth, wife Patti of Palm City, Lori Harbaruk, husband James of Boynton Beach, Andrew, wife Danielle of Port St. Lucie, Jason of Orlando and stepson, Jonathan Bennett, wife Tonya of Talking Rock, GA., twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the Forest Hills Palm City Chapel at 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, Florida on Saturday, May 10th 2014 at 11:00am.
