Robert F. Sloney, 91, of Jensen Beach, formerly of Palm City, passed away September 16, 2016 at Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach.

He was born in Detroit, MI, and had been a resident of Martin County for more than 25 years. He was a wounded veteran of the U. S. Army having served during WWII, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an assembly line worker for the automotive tool and dye industry before retirement.

Bob was a devoted family man. He truly enjoyed spending time with his wife and entire family. He loved playing pinochle, and was able to get in one last game the day before his death, and he actually won the game.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Sloney of Jensen Beach; daughter, Susan Bowman of Gainesville; son, Kevin Sloney of Port St. Lucie; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Riley of MI and brother, William Sloney of MI.
