Obituary of Robert Burleson
Robert M. Burleson, 89, of Stuart, died December 7, 2012 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Harper House, Stuart.
Born in Crossnore, North Carolina, he had been a resident of Rocky Point, Stuart for 27 years, having moved from Adamsville, Pennsylvania.
During World War II he served in the Second Armored Division of the U. S. Army in Europe and North Africa attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Before retiring he was the vice-president of manufacturing with Greenville Steel Car Company in Greenville, Pennsylvania for over 40 years.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church, Stuart.
Survivors include daughters, Susan Miller and Anne Dawes, both of Stuart; a son Donald Burleson of Dunlap, Tennessee; a brother Lenn Burleson of Adamsville, PA; sisters, Margaret Keller of Greenville and Martha Dolan of Andover, Ohio; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Burleson and a brother Franklin Ellis Burleson.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on December 11, 2012, at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Phillip Smith of the Community Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
