Obituary of Robert Dooley
Robert G. Dooley Sr., 84, of Palm City, FL, died, January 8, 2010 at his home.
Born in Newark, NJ, he had been a resident of Palm City and Port St. Lucie, FL for 5 years coming from Myrtle Beach, SC. Prior to that, he was a longtime resident of Long Branch, NJ. During the World War II he served in the U.S. Navy receiving the Asiatic Pacific Medal with eight bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars. Before retiring he was a retail food broker for Pezrow Sales Co. in Maspeth, NY. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Claire Dooley of Palm City; a son Robert G. Dooley Jr. of Long Branch, NJ; a daughter Ginny Middleton of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sister Evelyn Errickson of Freehold, NJ and Patty Fabian of Bayonet Point, FL; a brother, John M. Dooley of Easley, SC and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother John W. Dooley; sisters Catherine DeWise and Janet DeWysockie and his parents John M. and Georgia Dooley.
SERVICES: There will be a gathering from 2:30 to 4:00 PM on Jan. 13, 2010 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel with a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM.
