Robert (Bob) Eck died on February 17, 2018, at his home and in the loving company of his surviving daughter and son. He was 89 years old.

Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 9, 1928, to Michael and Theresa Eck. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School where he was on the swim team and editor of the school newspaper. He attended Northwestern University and graduated in 1950 with a BS In Journalism. It was there that he met his wife, Patricia Carolan, and they were married in 1951. Upon graduation Bob was commissioned  in the U.S. Navy where he served three years on destroyers during the Korean  War. After completing his service the Ecks moved to Winnetka to raise their family. Bob took a position as a corporate executive where he had the opportunity, in addition to his corporate responsibilities, to provide input into advertising and public relations programs. The Ecks bought a winter home in Martin County in 1984. During his retirement, Bob was busy producing amateur musical reviews as well as being an avid golfer and reader.

He felt he had some unique and fun achievements in authoring and publishing his one book "The Ups and Downs of Toilet Seat Etiquette", writing his one song " Hey, I'm Italian", and in golf shooting his age and having a hole in one. Bob found great joy in spending time with his friends and family. He had a kind heart and was known for being a true gentleman, and also a gift for finding both the humanity and humor in life.

Bob is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Patricia. He is survived by his daughter Carolan Page, of Marblehead, MA; his son Robert (Tina) Eck, of Syracuse, NY; his sisters Eleanor Bergman and Joanne Toomey; his brother Michael (Barbara) Eck; granddaughters Jennifer (Ian) Hughes and Carrie Page; grandson Joe (Heather) Latocha; and Melanie (Matt) Neagley. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Ethan and Ellie Hughes; and Sara Neagley. He is lovingly remembered by his caring extended family and wonderful friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 10am at Holy Redeemer.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Forest Hills Funeral Home Palm City.
