Robert Joseph Downey
Nov 27, 1956 - July 9, 2021

Bob was an Army brat born in Paris France. After moving several times his family settled back on Cape Cod where he lived and worked until he relocated to FL in in the late 80's. He was the oldest of 4 siblings, pre deceased by sisters; Baby Downey 1960,his father Richard J Downey 1996, and Patricia Downey Schiestl in 2019. He is survived by his Mother Mary Ann Downey "Nan" and his 2 sisters Kathy Kenney and her husband Tom of Palm City and Terry Downey, nephew Chris Wilcox, and brother in law  Stefan Schiestl all of Cape Cod.

Bob Downey was a marine mechanic working for several marinas over the years until starting his own business 20 years ago. With the encouragement of his good friend Jim Riordan Jr,  Bob was able to build a successful business keeping boaters afloat and safe on the water. Bob had a big heart, he was always there to lend a hand. He enjoyed his volunteer work whether it was with the Stuart Memorial and Veteran's Day Parades or the Stuart Air Show. He had a love for our Country. As a friend of Bill W., he quietly helped many people find their path in this crazy world. Although his heart gave out at such a young age he continues to help others with the gift of life through Organ Donation. Our loss is the gain of life for 3 individuals whom received his liver and kidneys, for that we are all grateful.

In leu of flowers donations can be made to "Southeast Florida Honor Flight", a mission  to serve our veterans that was close to his heart.
