Obituary

Robert Lyle Jurgenson, 77, of Stuart, FL, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.

Born in Moline, IL, he was the son of the late Lyle and Eileen Jurgenson. Bob graduated from Hammond High School in Hammond, IN, in 1957. He attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN, on a baseball scholarship, graduating in 1961.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Bob was a second-generation Dairy Queen franchise owner and operator, with stores over the years in Hammond, Munster, Dyer, and La Porte, IN. He had been a resident of Stuart for 35 years. Bob was a part-time courier for Forest Hills funeral home for 13 years. He was a past member of Woodmar Country Club in Hammond, IN, and the Yacht & Country Club of Stuart.

Bob lived and enjoyed a full life. He had a tireless work ethic and strongly believed in playing by the rules and keeping your word. He took great joy in many sports - in addition to baseball, he played basketball and track and he was an avid golfer. He is already greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Deborah Jurgenson of Stuart; his children, Curtis and his wife Tamara of Hinsdale, IL, Richard Wojcikowski and his wife Jennifer of Homewood, IL, and Karen Wright and her husband Aaron of Palos Heights, IL; and his grandchildren, Noah Wojcikowski, Colleen Wright, Harri Wojcikowski, Parker Jurgenson, Elizabeth Wojcikowski, Cody Jurgenson, Aidan Wright, Logan Wright, and Brayden Jurgenson. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Gary Farn.
