Obituary of Robert Lefort
Robert "Jack" LeFort, 82, of Stuart, passed away October 10, 2008, at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart. Jack was born September 24, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from William Penn Charter School, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Jack attended the Maritime Academy and was a veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was the President and life-time supporter of the Penn Quakers Football Club. He was the founder, President and President Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Sailing Center of Martin County, and he also was a past Commodore of the Ocean City Yacht Club in New Jersey.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Julie LeFort of Stuart; his son, Jack LeFort and daughter-in-law Lisa of Stuart; and grandsons, Bryce and Alec. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie LeFort Cullen in December, 2007.
A remembrance celebration will be held 5PM-7PM, Friday, October 17, 2008 at the U.S. Sailing Center of Martin County, 1955 NE Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach, FL.
