Obituary

Robert Adam Moyer, 103, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2026.  He was a loving father, Pop-Pop, brother, fisherman and friend.  He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Bob was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on September 26, 1922, to Joseph and Gertrude Moyer. Bob had a lifelong passion for the sea, joining the Navy at 19 years old and serving honorably for almost 22 years through Word War II and the Korean Conflict.  Serving on the USS Reno, USS Missouri, USS Maddox, USS Arneb, USS Naifeh, and the USS Hancock, Bob rose to the rank of Boilermaker Master Chief Petty Officer. He was stationed at Treasure Island Naval Base (San Francisco, CA) before retiring in 1964.

After the Navy, Robert used his expertise in conventional high-pressure boiler systems and founded his own company R.A. Moyer & Co.  As one of the top experts for conventional high-pressure boiler systems, his services were in high demand around the world.

Bob's passion for helping others continued, with his support and commitment to the Olivet Boys & Girls Club where he grew up playing soccer, basketball and other sports in his youth. While serving on the board, Bob started a scholarship fund to help club members who wished to continue their education beyond high school. Bob was honored in 2000 as a Champion of Youth, awarded to him by the Olivet Boys and Girls Club.

Outside of work, family and charity, Bob loved golf and fishing, spending his later years on the Atlantic coast of Florida fishing for Snook and Pompano as well as taking regular trips to Alaska in search of Halibut and Salmon, of which he was very successful.

Bob is survived by his daughter Robyn (Steve) Davis, grandsons Ross (Cara) Davis and Todd (Marin) Davis, and his sister Bernice Lebo, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Jill Moyer, his parents Joseph and Gertrude Moyer, his brothers J. Milton Moyer and Stewart "Spike" Moyer, and his sister Fern Dewald.

In accordance with his wishes, Bob's remains will be remanded to the sea in a small family ceremony.
