IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Frederick
Nye
August 19, 1937 – November 15, 2021
Bob Nye
Robert F Nye of Palm City, Florida also known to friends and family as Bob, Bo, Pops, Dad, Gramps, and Chief, died peacefully and of natural causes at home on November 15 th , 2021 surrounded by his family. Bob was born August 19, 1937 in Fall River, MA, to the late Fred and Marie (Hagman) Nye. He leaves his brother, Richard "Dick" Nye, of Ft. Pierce, FL and Keene, NY. He was the loving and devoted husband of Patricia Colloredo Nye, and father to Karen (Michael) Gallagher and Judy (Dean) Nye-Keating all from Yarmouthport MA. His grandchildren Murphy (Alexis) O'Brien, John Gallagher, Nicole Gallagher, Taylor Deluga and Josie Deluga will sorely miss his love, support, and positive reinforcement which he gave generously and unconditionally. He also leaves his nieces and nephews Jill (Tom) McKeown, Jeff (Kate) Nye and David (Chelsea) Nye, and six Colloredo stepsons, Bill (Maureen), Jim (Judi), John (Shelly), Bob (Laura), Scott (Lisa), Rick (Lynnea) along with their families with whom he enjoyed many happy memories.
Bob graduated Boston University and started his career with IBM and Xerox, but quickly moved to the Financial Services industry as a stockbroker and manager for more than 35 years in Boston MA, Cape Cod and Stuart FL. He was "retired" for almost 15 years from his position of Corporate Vice President and Branch Manager of the former AG Edwards & Sons in Stuart which he opened in 1988. In retirement he continued his "business" day trading until his death. He was passionate about the benefits of building a strong and sustainable stock portfolio and shared his knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. He was known as "Chief" to his business associates because he led his teams to success through motivation, mentoring and genuinely caring about his colleagues and clients.
His greatest passion was for his family and the family home in Keene, NY where he grew up summers with his brother "Trick". Many, many wonderful memories filled with love, laughter, golf, and family reunions were the subject of his discussions with his family during his last days. Always "Chief", his parting words were "Always work together and know the importance of family".
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice of Stuart Florida, or to the Keene New York Volunteer Fire Department.
