Obituary

Mr. Robert Stephen Austin, of Jensen Beach Florida, passed away on Christmas, 2018, at the age of 87.

Bob was born to parents Stephen and Charlette Austin on May 7 th , 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island. He grew up the oldest with two half siblings, George Linem and Susan Robinson and attended Brown University for Art. He married his childhood sweetheart on April 7 th , 1951, Barbara Authelet. They went on to have four children Chuck, Craig, Linda, and Gary Austin. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother who worked in the Martin County School system as a Baker.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Linda Austin Pond; his son, Gary Austin, siblings, George Lineham and Susan Robinson, his eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Austin, and sons Robert Charles "Chuck" and Craig Austin.

Bob enlisted in the armed forces in August 1950, where he served as a Paratrooper in the 82 nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. Bob worked as a welder on Jet Engines for Pratt and Whitney, both in East Hartford Connecticut, and Palm Beach Florida for many years, along with working at ERK, TCT, and Decker Industries. Bob was a talented artist as a painter and a saxophone player. In 1970 Bob and Barbara moved their family down to Stuart, Florida.

Bob was a loving father, known for his wit, humor, and kindness. He was a man of honor in the Armed Services, a faithful Dolphins fan since 1970, and a faithful Red Sox fan.

A service for Bob will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home January 5 th at 1:00 pm.
