Robert M. Sampson, 87, "Mr. Bobby" as all his friends called him, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on June 25, 2018 at his home, after a long series of ailments..

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he had been a resident of Port St. for 28 years coming from Sudbury, MA.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp attaining the rank of Sergeant.

Before retiring he was chief engineer and draftsman for the Walter Kidde Corporation. He was an active member of the Marine Corp League Jack Ivy Detachment #666, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 113, American Legion Post 318, Port St. Lucie, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10554, Fort Pierce and United Veterans of St. Lucie County.  He also attended St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Sampson; adopted daughter, Patti Giunta and close friends, Sandra Conner and Michael Rusignuolo all of Port St. Lucie.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, FL.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on June 29, 2018 in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow immediately in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City with military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corp.
