Obituary of Robert Sande

Robert G. Sande, 68, of Stuart, beloved husband, father, grandfather, born June 21, 1945 in New Haven, CT, died peacefully Tuesday, September 24, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.

Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Haven in 1968 and his Master of Science degree from the University of Bridgeport in 1980. He began his career with Sikorsky Aircraft as a flight test engineer in Stratford, CT and moved his family from Madison, CT to Stuart, FL in 1981. He also held positions as Supervisor of Project Engineering and Chief of Aircraft Operations in West Palm Beach, FL, retiring after 39 years in 2007.

Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pauline, daughter Jennifer Cosola and her husband Brian, son Eric Sande and his wife Nicole, grandchildren Nicholas and Kaylee Cosola and Kevin and Kyle Sande. He is also survived by his sisters Dolores Dixon of Milford, CT, Lynne Mather of Wallingford, CT, Leigh Throckmorton of Gilbert, AZ, mother-in -law, Olive Giannini of Stuart, FL, dear friends Paul and Lucille Targonski of Stuart, FL along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Florence Sande.

He was an avid fisherman, boater and wood turner belonging to the Treasure Coast Wood Turners Guild. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
