Obituary of Robert Wellen

Robert Wellen, 85, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Lifecare Center of Port St. Lucie.

Born in New Rochelle, NY, he was a winter visitor to Jensen Beach from 1980-1985 and he moved to Palm City in 1985 from Somers, NY, moving to Port St. Lucie four years ago.

He was a retired owner of fuel oil companies and had owned Oil City Industries, Inc. in New York.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and had served in the 16th Armored Division. He received the American Campaign Medal; European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal; Good Counduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was past master of Siwanoy Masonic Lodge #1960 in New Rochelle.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marie P. Wellen of Port St. Lucie; sons, Russell Wellen of Sleepy Hollow, NY; Matthew Wellen of Water Mill, NY; David Wellen of Riverhead, NY; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wellen.
