Rolf Siekmann of Hobe Sound, Fla., formerly of Saddlebrook Farm, Newtown, Pa., was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, of complications from a stroke and cardiac disease. Rolf was the beloved husband of Gail (Sweda); brother of Monika Magee (Alan); and brother-in-law of Marcie Curcurito (Chris) and Stanley Sweda (Rennae). He was preceded in death by his mother, Ilse (Zodrow) and by his father, Werner. After high school, Rolf joined the military where his exemplary interpersonal skills were recognized and rewarded by his promotion to drill sergeant - making him the youngest drill sergeant to graduate from the academy. Upon his discharge from the Army, Rolf founded WESI Security Systems where he applied his considerable skills to managing and overseeing the company's projects and employees. In more than 20 years under his guidance, WESI grew to become the largest burglar and fire alarm central station in Bucks County, Pa., with a staff of 33 employees and serving thousands of customers. Rolf orchestrated the successful merger of WESI with Sonitrol Inc. - a company that preserves the work ethic and and integrity that were important to Rolf throughout his career. Not wishing to retire yet, Rolf then partnered with SB Global Foods where within four years the company grew from selling small pallets of food products to marketing full containers. SB Global Foods operated in 22 countries around the world, and remained committed to Rolf's ethical principles. After suffering a stroke in 1999, Rolf turned his talents to his true love - giving back to the community, to his church, to local hospitals, and to supporting animal rights. He donated his time and money, making and distributing gift baskets and packages for the Military, for children and the elderly. Throughout his career and life, he did all things with true passion and love, believing that "love is in the giving, not the getting." Rolf never sought praise or reward for his generosity, and frequently performed these acts anonymously. Inspired by his mother, Rolf was an avid gardener. He grew beautiful flowers and designed and hand-dug the pond at his Pennsylvania farm. He transferred this hobby to his new home in Florida where friends and neighbors would see him planting and tending to his gardens every day. Rolf was always ready with a smile, a joke, or a helping hand. He would be the first to tell you that he lived a good and full life, traveling throughout the world and being enriched by many cultures, friends, and family. He often said "I have been blessed with the good fortune of ten men." His family and friends could say, "We have all been blessed to have you touch our lives with your love and compassion." Rolf so cared for others and actually wrote letters to relatives and friends to be distributed upon leaving this earthly life in order to soothe the transition for those who loved him.
