Dr. Ronald Grober, 82, passed away peacefully on November 5th, after a short illness.

The lifelong physician and surgeon, who helped thousands on the Treasure Coast, was born in Brooklyn on June 6, 1936, and spent his youth in Teaneck, NJ.

"Doc" graduated from University of Pennsylvania, where he was instrumental in establishing the Penn hockey program, still in existence today.

He went on to pursue his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in 1962 before serving in the Air Force.

Dr. Ronald Grober established his orthopedic practice in St. Lucie County in 1972 and went on to build The Grober Center into the hub of sports medicine for not only the Treasure Coast but for innovative practices, techniques and leadership worldwide. The Grober Center excellence and reputation resulted in an over 20 year relationship with the New York Mets, caring for some of baseball's greatest athletes.

Ron pursued many passions, most notably music and piano. His jazz career traces back to his college days and continued throughout his life as his Dixieland Mudcats sold out local venues for decades. An avid outdoorsman, he held his captains license, his pilot license, and numerous scientific certifications. With a curious mind and a sharp intelligence, Doc was always in pursuit of understanding and analyzing the world around him.

Above all, Doc was dedicated to his loving family and friends, all of whom have benefited from his hunger for life.

Survived by the love of his life for more than 30 years, Dorothy Liddle, who was his golfing partner, first mate on their sailboat and his co-pilot not only on the Cessna but in life.

His two daughters Linda and her fiance Brian and Suzanne and her husband Matthew, his stepdaughters Kim and Kelly, his sister Dail and his three grandchildren, Mason,Thatcher and Hanne.

Visitation on Wednesday November 7th from 6-8 PM at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City.

Funeral services to be held also at Forest Hills Thursday November 8th at 2 PM, followed by a private family internment.

Reception to follow at Legacy Country Club at 4 PM.
