CW4 (US Army Retired) Ronald K. Knepshield, 83, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on November 14, 2020 at Tradition Medical Center. He was born in Apollo, PA on May 7, 1937, the son of the late Carl A and Dorothy E Knepshield. He graduated from Apollo High School, Apollo, PA, in 1955 and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1992, having relocated from his last military station in Anchorage, Alaska. Ron was a member of Faith Congregational Church, the past commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 113, the past commander of the American Legion Post # 355, the President of the United Veterans of St Lucie County, and the National Vice President, President, and the Immediate Past President of the American Military Retired Association.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol A Knepshield of 63 years, who passed on September 23, 2020, and is survived by his daughter Susan Knepshield Searsone; grandchildren, Corey Jo Searsone (partner William Ash); Joseph Keith Searsone (partner Lauren Tuten); great grandson Joseph Keith Searsone Jr.; brother Dennis C Knepshield of The Villages, FL, sister Judith C (Thomas) Ainsworth of Newton, NC, brother David C (Jennifer) Knepshield of Rural Valley, PA, sister Gretchen A(Raymond ) Klingensmith of Cameron, NC, and brother C Fred (Debra) Knepshield of Apollo, PA.

Ron enjoyed the hobbies of wood carving, coin collecting, camping, RVing, boating, and fishing. He was an active participant in the development of the Veteran's Memorials along the Veterans Parkway in Port St Lucie.

In respecting Ron's wishes, there will not be a funeral service at this time. In the future, Ron, along with wife Carol, will be interred at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. A celebration of life will also be planned at that time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the United Service Organizations.
