IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosalia "Rose"
Lagreca
April 12, 1921 – July 24, 2022
Rose LaGreca passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on July 24, 2022. Rose was born in Passaic, New Jersey on April 12, 1921, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Silvestri.
Rose lived in Northern New Jersey the majority of her life and retired with her husband Jim in the mid 1980's to South Jersey. Rose and Jim then relocated to sunny south Florida in the early 1990's to fully enjoy retirement life. After lovingly raising her 4 children, she opened up a Health Food Store and became a very successful entrepreneur. Rose always showed her family love through her cooking with some of the most delicious meals and desserts. Rose loved playing cards and was quite the card shark, beating anyone who challenged her in a game of 500 rummy! She loved to sing and back in the day she would record records of herself singing and send them to her fiancé while he was stationed overseas during World War 2. The most memorable thing about Rose is her love. Anyone who has ever known her will say she was always smiling and exuded love and pure joy.
Rose was also predeceased by her sisters Ann Alberti, Theresa Turco, twins Edith Iseldyke and Marion Strombolini, Mary Gerbino and Rose's twin brother Michael Syll. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband Jim LaGreca.
Rose is survived by her 4 children, Marie Hauptman (Harry), Sam LaGreca (Barbara), Theresa Burns (Richard) and Patricia Walker. Also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Michelle Wilkinson, James Hauptman (Abigail), Christina Dobos (David), Shauna Burns, Gina Burns and Danielle Rose Walker. And her 11 great-grandchildren, Mikayla, twins Gianna & Alexa, Joy, Jada, Finley, Grantham, Benaiah, Shakir, Taavetti and Quincy. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rose also had a special relationship with all her caretakers at the Cabana at Jensen Dunes and all her home caretakers before moving to the ALF. She will be greatly missed by all.
