We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rosalind Barnes, who went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on September 7, 2025 in Palm City, Florida. She was born on February 27, 1938, to loving parents, DH (David Henry) and Jessie Mosley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Ray Barnes, her parents, her sister Marian Hendricks and her son-in-law Booth Cline. Surviving her are her beautiful children, Jay Johnson (Deborah), Caye Johnson, stepchildren Steve Barnes (Christy), Richard Barnes (Dana) and Joanne Cline. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren Amy Gentile, Zachary Barnes, Ashley Cline, Carly Barnes, Kristin Campion, Carey Barnes, Kayla Barnes and Ria Barnes and five great-grandchildren Addison Gentile, Campbell Gentile, James Barnes. Ava Barnes, Ellie Campion, Henry Barnes and Benji Campion.
Rosalind attended Millington High School and UT Martin College in Tennessee. While she was in high school, she was a cheerleader, prom queen, homecoming queen and Miss Millington High. She was one of the most enthusiastic and faithful football fans of the University of Tennessee. She was the matriarch of our family. She had a passion for her family, southern cooking, and her sweet dogs. The twinkle in her eye, wonderful sense of humor, joyful spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed. While we know Rosalind is in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
We invite her friends, family, and loved ones to her funeral on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosalind's name to Place of Hope which provides a stable, loving environment for foster children.
