Obituary of Rose DeSantis
Rose DeSantis, 89, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her daughter's home in Port St. Lucie.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived in West Palm Beach for 10 years, coming from Fort Lauderdale. She moved to Florida from Farmingville, New York.
Before retiring she was a travel agent in Broward County for 20 years. She also was in the bakery business with Sy Flakowitz at the Flakowitz Bakery in Boca Raton for 28 years. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Daniel DeSantis and his wife Dr. Evelyn Hermes-DeSantis of New Hope, PA; her daughter, Judy Colozzo and her husband, Benjamin of Port St. Lucie; and her son, Joseph DeSantis of Fort Pierce. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Dan DeSantis and his wife Tacy, Michael Guastello, Marion Eckersley and her husband Scott, Lisa Colozzo, Benjamin Colozzo and his wife Lorrianna, and great-grandchildren, Calli Ann Albano and her husband Chris, Briana Gubler, Jordan DeSantis, Abby Rose DeSantis, and Isabella Colozzo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guiseppe DeSantis in 2003 and sisters, Lillian Ciola and Concetta DeFina.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, FL on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at 11:15 AM on February 20, 2014 at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth.
