Obituary

On 6 November 2019, Ruddy Gautreau joined his brother Armand and sister Anita in heaven.  Rudolph Joseph Gautreau was born in May 1931 in Mexico, Maine.  At the early age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy, where he served for four years and was assigned to the Navy vessel USS Gen. H.W. Butner.  In November 1954 Rudy married Alfa Martin, and together they raised four children: Gary (Joanie), Crystal Farr, Jeffrey (Darlene), and Renee Palmer (Trent), all in Bradford, Vermont.  Later in life, Rudy moved around all over the world with parts of his family and eventually ended up in Jensen Beach, Florida for the rest of his life.  Rudy was a jack of all trades, serving as a butcher, high school chef, car salesman, and restaurant owner, along with many, many other jobs.  He was a man who enjoyed with a good drink, and often the first person seen dancing at a party or retelling one of his many jokes.  Rudy leaves behind six grandchildren: Zachary (Brittany), Trisha, Nicholas (Michelle), Ryan, Joshua, and Austin, along with three great grandchildren: Walter, Thomas, and Aubrey.  A gathering of close friends and family will be planned at a future date to enjoy a celebration of his life.  Donations can be made in his memory to the US Navy Seal Museum at www.navysealmuseum.org/support . Please feel free to leave a note of condolence.
