Russell G. Vernon, age 71, of Palm City, Florida, passed away way too soon from lung cancer on Monday, March 4, 2019 surrounded by his family.  Born December 28, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Woodrow Vernon and Golda (Braden) Vernon.

Russ is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ann Bulman Vernon; along with four daughters; Janie (Ronnie) Miller, Karla (David) Smith, Leanne (Bailey) Witt and Julie (Rob) Banasiak; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Tina) Miller, Charlotte and Ben Smith, Brady and Brooke Banasiak, Anna and Becca Witt; and one great-grandchild, Levi Miller; sister Paula (Chuck) Dusel; and many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. Russ was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Russ graduated from the University of Louisville with Honors in Physics.  He had a long-respected career as a Physicist in the defense industry.  He worked hard and played harder.  He was full of adventure and loved to travel.  He was larger than life and loved to laugh. His family was his pride and joy.

Family and Friends Visitation for Russ will begin at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 11 ^th at Forest Hills Memorial Park and Chapel on 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL 34990. Celebration of Life Service to begin at 4:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the Barth Syndrome Foundation.
