Obituary of Ruth Marino

On Saturday August 16th Ruth Virginia Marino 89 of Palm City, FL went to be with her Lord.

Ruth was born and raised in Fall River, MA where she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She later graduated from the University of Alabama in 1947.

In 1948 she became the wife of Joseph Thomas Marino on the campus of U of A, she continued on working for the Dean of Students.

They moved to Paterson, NJ in 1949 and had two children. Ruth was a teacher in the Paterson School System for 32 years and taught grades 3-5.

Ruth and Joe retired to Palm City where they resided for 28 years. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Joe. She is also survived by her son, Joseph T. Marino, Jr. (Jeannie Marino) and daughter, Elizabeth Marino Griffin (William Griffin). She has two granddaughters, Jennifer Marino Mangino and Angela Marino Mitchell and four great granddaughters, Brenna Moody, Riley Mangino, Charlotte Mitchell and Avery Mitchell, as well as four nephews, James, Robert, Thomas, and William Walmsley.

Visitation will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City on Monday, August 25th from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. An Evening Prayer will be held at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am Tuesday, August 26th at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City. The Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
