Ruth Spencer Tasker of Palm City, Florida, originally from Connecticut, passed away at age 96 on Tuesday, October 6 th at her home in Harbour Ridge. Ruth was an ardent lover of music from opera to jazz, and of dance from Martha Graham to Fred Astaire. As a young woman she had been associated with the Hartford Conservatory as a member of their contemporary dance group. A sophisticated lady, Ruth's friends often commented on how tasteful and elegant she was at all times. Ruth passed as she had lived, gracefully and gently.

Born Ruth Brown in East Hartford, CT, her parents were the late Bernard and Ruth Brown. In 1941 Ruth graduated from East Hartford High School. Her rich and full life included having been married in 1950 to Walter Spencer of Rocky Hill, CT with whom she raised their three children. Ruth was preceded in death in 2007, by her daughter Robin Spencer.

In 1977 Ruth married Gordon W. Tasker following the death of her first husband. Together they enjoyed 43 years of happy marriage, more than 30 of them at Harbour Ridge.

Ruth leaves her daughters Lois Spencer Humphrey and Pamelarose Spencer, as well as granddaughter Laura Spencer Humphrey and her husband Matthew Sarno and great grandchildren Jane and Tom Sarno. step-son and daughter-in-law Richard and Sheila Tasker, step-daughter and son-in-law Bob and Beth Tasker Davis, their children Carter, Elizabeth and Chesley, and their children.
