Ruth W. Volmer died 8/9/2017 at age 97. She was born in Germany to Helena and Martin Wild. Before coming to Stuart, Ruth was raised in the Bronx and lived in Yonkers and Oak Beach New York. She received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Hunter College in New York City.
During WWII, she sent coded messages for the Armed forces via Western Union telegraph. She was a teacher in Yonkers public Schools for 30 years.
Ruth was a member of the Stuart Lions Club, AAUW, Heritage Ridge Golf Club, and volunteered on the Board of Directors of the Council on Aging, and also acted as a crisis line telephone counselor.
Ruth Volmer was survived by her daughter: Regina Walther, son: Robert Walther and wife Joni, grandchildren: Justin Walther, Deanna Walther, Christina Walther, and step daughters Linda P. Connors and Kathleen Roszko . She was preceded in death by her husbands Rudolph A. Walther, Robert S. McKibbin, and Frederick C. Volmer.
Services are at Forest Hills Palm City Saturday 8/12/2017 @ 12 pm.
