Obituary of Salvatore DacQuesto

Salvatore "Jimmy" DacQuesto, 93, of Stuart, passed away March 31, 2015 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. He was born in Staten Island, NY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was part of the 82nd and 101st airborne division, having served during WWII. He has been a resident of Stuart since 1965, having moved from Utica, NY.

Jimmy was the owner and operator of Coral Painting in the Coral Gardens subdivision of Stuart in the 1960's. In addition to his painting business, he and his wife, were quite successful with owning and or managing an assortment of restaurants in Martin County, including the Holiday Inn, Jimmy's Italian Restaurant, the Groggery, Thackery's and Lum's. He was a founding member of the Sons of Italy in Stuart and a member of the Elk's BPOE #1870. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sarah J. DacQuesto of Stuart; daughters, Carol Merryman of Baldwinsville, NY, Janet Battelene of Lake Worth, Patricia Coriale of Pittiford, NY and Pamela Thermann of Palm City; a sister, Jean Rizzotto of Stuart and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie Lombardo and Frank Lombardo.

Visitation: 9-11:00AM, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City Chapel.

Funeral Service: 11:00AM, Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the funeral home chapel.

Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
