Obituary of Salvatore Mandra
Salvatore V. Mandra, 87, of Palm City, died August 21, 2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had been a resident of Palm City for 35 years, having moved from Hicksville, NY. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having serviced during World War II on the USS Phoenix. He had been a Police Officer for Nassau County. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City.
Survivors include daughters, Luann Mandra-Nelson and Sallyann Mandra, both of Palm City; one grandchild, Philip Mandra of Palm City and sisters, Irene Mandra and Pauline Fazio both of Farmingdale, NY and Lena Donato of Centereach, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Mandra and brothers, John Mandra and Philip Mandra who was MIA in Korea.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM on August 29, 2012 and from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00PM on August 30, 2012 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on August 31, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Palm City.
