Obituary of Samuel Galassi
Samuel R. Galassi, 82, of Stuart, FL, died November 6, 2010 at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart. He was born in Red Bank, NJ, and had been a resident of Stuart for 19 years, having moved from Middletown, NJ. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and was involved with the Normandy Invasion, and he was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He had been a truck driver for Shore Point Distributors in New Jersey, before retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart, the South River Tennis Club in Stuart and was on the Board of the South River Condominium Association.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Galassi of Stuart; daughter, Gina Licitra of Stuart; two granddaughters, Michelle and Christina Licitra and a brother, Louis Galassi of Red Bank, NJ. He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Galassi.
Visitation: 9-11:00AM, Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held November 11, 2010, at 12:00PM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart.
Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
