Obituary of Sara Jones
Sara A. Jones, 90, of Port St. Lucie, passed away September 1, 2010 at her home. She was born April 11, 1920 in Statesboro, GA. She lived for 42 years in Immokalee, FL and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 14 years. She was self-employed in the real estate rental business before retirement and was a member of First Baptist Church of Immokalee and later the Westside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce. She was a member of the auxiliary at Lawnwood Medical Center in Fort Pierce, the School board in Collier County, and the board of Edison Junior College in Fort Myers, FL.
She is survived by her sons: Randall Jones and his wife Brenda and Edwin A. "Wynn" Jones Jr. and his wife Melinda all of Port St. Lucie; granddaughters, Helen Wynnette of Santa Monica, CA and Kara Mindy Edwards of Tampa, FL; grandsons, Edwin J. Jones of Stuart, FL and Evan C. Jones of Port St. Lucie; great grandchildren, Ethan, Kieli, Jaxon, Sophie and Delilah; and sister, Marion Kellum of Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Jones in 2000.
Visitation: 10:30AM - 11:30AM Friday, September 3, 2010 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
Service: 11:30AM following the visitation, in the Chapel, with Dale Ingersoll officiating.
Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
