Sarah "Sally" Sausman (nee Thorne) 79, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on November 30, 2023, in Stuart. She was born December 18, 1943 in Newport, Rhode Island, to the late Sarah Mary Kelly and Percy Byers Thorne.

Sally was an extraordinary individual who possessed a remarkable intellect, warmth, and sociability. She actively participated in various functions and activities at the Pipers Club community, where she dedicated her time as the Membership Committee chair and publications editor. Her commitment to the community led her to serve on the board of directors as had her husband, Charles. Additionally, Sally served as the president of the Condo 9 board for 13 years, managing all its operations excellently. She also led the women's nine-hole golf group for 6 years.

Sally's dedication extended beyond her community involvement. She cherished her personal relationships and was survived by her daughter Kathleen Judd of Charleston, South Carolina, brother Lawrence of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, sister Kathleen of Tucson, Arizona, and her grandchildren Samantha and Grant. Sally's life partner, R Scott Sherman, also joins them in loving remembrance. Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles.

A ceremony to celebrate Sally's life will be held at Forest Hills Chapel in Palm City, Florida at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6.  Sally's wonderful contributions to her community and her commitment to her many, many friends will be remembered forever. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
