Obituary

Sharon Jean Schultz, 69, of Palm City, passed away April 15th, 2019 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay.  she was born in Oak Park, IL but had spent most of her lifetime in Miramar, FL  she relocated to Palm City in 1988.

She had worked for AT&T for 45 years before retiring.  Sharon was a very active person and diversified in her interest.  She began in her interest in antique cars with her father Henry, and she became an owner.  She was a member of the AACA, and since she had such a great interest, this led her to become the first woman Master Judge in judging in the Antique Auto Club of America.  She became qualified to judge the interiors as well as the exteriors.  She was able to judge others in the authenticity of their vehicles from first hand experience.  She owned a 1957 Plymouth and a 1965 Ford XL convertible that she restored to the original condition.

Sharon did all the tune-ups, oil changes and regular maintenance on her cars.  She also did minor work and learned to do lead work, which is the process of removing metal that is rusted on the body, and replacing the new metal by spot welding.  When Sharon wasn't working on her cars, she was found playing tennis in the city tournaments, adding trophies to her collection, or riding her bike.  She participated in the League of American Wheelmen's Half Century event, which is riding fifty miles in six hours.  She also participated in scuba diving, especially in the Keys.  In addition to all of her athletic achievements, Sharon loved to do needlepoint, gardening and interior decorating.  She loved traveling, and traveled to Hawaii and extensively throughout Alaska, to name a few of the places she visited.

She is survived by her brother, Wayne Schultz and his wife, Denise of St. Cloud, FL; preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eugenia Schultz.
