Obituary

Lawford Stanley Brown was born July 24, 1917 to Sara Gordon-Brown and Richardson Brown in St. Ann's Parish, (Bamboo) Jamaica, West Indies. Stanley was the youngest of 5 children - Aubrey, Ruby, Sweetie and Conda, all of whom preceded him in death.

He was educated in public schools in Jamaica and could read and write fluently by the age of four. After completing his education, he moved to Panama to work on the Panama Canal. While in Panama, he studied music and learned to play the Trumpet.

He later moved to London, England and attended University where he majored in Algebra and Latin.  Members of Parliament appointed Stanley to the position of Secretary of the Standing Conference of Leaders.  He later became a diplomat and was assigned to represent Jamaica at Westminster Abbey when Jamaica gained independence in 1962.  He was invited to dine with the likes of Indira Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr, with his lovely wife Victoria by his side.  Stanley met the love of his life, Victoria, in Jamaica and was smitten from the start. They got married in England and were together for 68 years before she passed away.  Stanley and Victoria raised three sons - Fitz, Junor and Stanley Jr.

In 1963, Stanley left England and migrated to United States and settled in New York. After a successful life in New York, he decided to move to warmer climates and spent his final years in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mr. Brown, as he was known, always had a desire to help others gain legal entry into America.  He leaves a legacy of helping over a hundred people from all over the world to reside in the United States of America. Mr. Brown has 15 grandchildren and 19 great grands and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
