Obituary of Teresa Kiernan
Teresa C. Kiernan, 76, of Palm City, FL passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL.
She was born in New York City, and raised in Pleasantville, NY. She has been a resident of Palm City for 21 years, having moved from Westport, CT.
She received a BA and an MA in humanities from Manhattanville College, a JD degree from Pace University, and an MS in Agency Counseling from Bridgeport University.
She practiced law in New York and Connecticut. Then she worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida.
She was a loving mother and wife, a beloved aunt, sister and step mother. Most of all she loved being "Grammie" and cherished the time she spent with her six grandchildren. She had a passion for learning and reading, horses and sailing. She enjoyed her book club and Tai Chi here in Florida.
She is survived by her husband Richard N. Tinker of Palm City; her sons, Raymond Kuntz and his wife Lea of Canterbury, NH; Thomas Kuntz and his wife Eliza of Red Lodge, MT; her daughter, Jennifer Kiernan and her husband Gerard of Keene, NH; her step daughter Elizabeth Tinker of Mountain View, CA; a brother, Dr. Peter Kiernan PhD and his wife Ena of Vancouver, BC; sisters, Mary Eileen Sinnott and her husband John of Bedford, NY and Kathleen Daley and her husband John of Park City, UT and six grandchildren.
There will be a service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, Palm City, FL. A reception at the church to follow the service.
