Obituary for Theodore James McMahon, Jr
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theodore James McMahon, Jr., beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully on October 21.2025 at the age of 93. Born on May 1, 1932, Ted lived a life full of adventure and innovation.
A proud veteran, Ted served as an Army paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War, where he displayed the bravery and dedication that would define his life. His time in the military instilled in him a profound sense of duty, discipline, and resilience that he carried with him throughout the years.
Ted was a man of many passions. A lover of the ocean, he spent much of his life sailing, finding peace and joy on the water. His love for aviation was equally strong—he was a skilled pilot and dedicated hobbyist, flying both full-sized aircraft and model airplanes. Whether navigating the skies or the seas, he thrived in the freedom and adventure that both worlds provided.
In addition to his passions, Ted was an inventor and entrepreneur, known for his pioneering work in the field of electronics. He spent his career innovating and advancing communication and navigation technology for marine, aircraft, and ground systems. His contributions to these industries made him a trailblazer, and his work continues to impact countless lives.
Ted was adored by his wife, June, of seventy years and loved by his four children, Kathleen McKim, Karen Williams, Kelly Amatucci, and Kimberly Collins.
Ted is survived by his four daughters and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends who will miss him.
A celebration of Ted's life will be held on October 31, 2025 at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1454 SW Mapp Rd, Palm City, FL 34990.
Rest in peace, Ted. You have touched so many lives, and your legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
