Age 73, of Stuart FL died on Monday, June 11, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Williams was born in Chicago and spent his childhood in Hammond, IN. He attended Indiana University and was a graduate of Ball State University and did graduate studies at the University of Chicago. Mr. Williams was married to Judy Williams for almost 50 years. He retired in 1991 as the Senior Vice President of Kemper Financial Services after 30 years, where he started as an investment analyst and ran most of the sales and marketing. Not missing many of the actions at Kemper, he was highly regarded by his associates and competitors in the industry. He was a US Army veteran where he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborn Division. Mr Williams was a former member of the Flossmoor Country Club in Illinois and was a resident of Sailfish Point where he was a member of the Golf Club. He enjoyed boating and was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elsa and Thomas V. Williams, Sr. and his mother in law, Virginia Thonert.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Judith D. Williams of Stuart, FL; daughter Amy (Chris) Simutis of The Woodlands, TX; two sons Matthew (Sara) Williams of Chicago and Peter (Shannon) Williams of Flossmoor, IL; five grandchildren Katie and Tommy Simutis and Jack, Erin and Cameron Williams; one brother Eugene (Sandra) Williams; two sisters Nancy (David) Schafer and Bonnie (Jim) Sullivan; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Deborah Dougherty of Seattle, WA and Denise Burdick of Atlanta, GA
After a long debilitating illness, he was able to stay at home with the assistance of his loving and loyal caretakers Elna Silpat, Noel Bonnick and his dog McKenzie. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and his many friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 E. 10th. Street, Stuart, FL. Inurnment will be private to the family. The family requests that memorials be made to the Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 S.E. Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34996 or to the Hibiscus Childrens Center, 2400 N.E. Dixie Hwy, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
