Obituary of Toni Madden
Toni Gail Madden, 71, of Palm City, passed away May 17, 2014 at Martin Medical Center Stuart after a sudden unexpected medical episode. Husband and son held her hand as she journeyed to God. She was born in Fulton, NY and had been a resident of Palm City for 38 years, having moved from Miami. Toni had many friends and was noted for her kindness, grace, intelligence and religious devotion.
She was a teacher in the Miami public school system after graduating from the University of Miami. Later she received her Doctorate Degree from Florida Atlantic University. Before retirement Toni was an Education Consultant traveling all over Florida and out of state working with school superintendents and principals. She was an innovator and pioneer in the development of school administrator evaluations, skill assessments and selection criteria. Her teachings and ideas where incorporated in school districts thru out Florida.
Toni volunteered and worked tirelessly many years at her Immanuel Lutheran Church as head of the Altar Guild. She frequently played a leadership role in other church events and administrative tasks. She and husband Bob were members of the various Martin Downs country clubs for 34 years.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Robert P. Madden of Palm City; son, Joel P. Madden of Palm City; cousin, James D. Madden, his wife Stacia of Gainesvile FL and daughter Lauren Madden of NY; niece, Joanne Pantaleo of NY; brother, John Pantaleo and his wife, Anne of NY, and many other nieces and cousins.
Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00PM, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Forest Hills funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00AM Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
