Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Van Vechten Sayre, (Vec) of Palm City, Florida. Vec died at the age of 90 on April 7, 2023 after a brief illness.
Vec had an illustrious career at International Flavors and Fragrances in New York City.
Vec is survived by his three loving children, Linda Griffith, Wendy Kane, and Jim Sayre as well as ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Vec was the loving husband for 46 years to the late Ann Sayre.
Vec's love of animals brought him much joy throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Avenue, Palm City 34990.
The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members present.
