Vicki L. Jenkins, 72, of Stuart, Fl, formerly of Westfield, N.J. passed away on May 27th 2023 peacefully and comfortably at home after a long bout with ALS.

Vicki served as Director of Special Education in Martin County. She previously also served as Director in St. Lucie County.

Vicki started her 33 year career in special education as a special education teacher. After getting her Masters Degree in Special Education she became a special ED coordinator. After obtaining her Masters Degree in Administration, she became a supervisor, then director.

Vicki was honored by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council for her work and commitment to making a difference in the lives of Florida's Children in 2005 with the You Make A Difference award.

Vicki was also recognized by the United Way of Martin County for her commitment to children.

Vicki, on several occasions, has contributed  input in LRP Publications, a national special education and law training organization.

Vicki was born in London, Kentucky on August 3,1950, daughter of Christopher Turner II, and Nancy Potter. She married her husband, Gary Jenkins, on March 18, 1972, married 51 years and have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Children are Beth Anne Toth, Gary Scott Jenkins, Todd Richard Jenkins, and Katie Lynn Jenkins. Grandchildren are Jacob Toth, Hannah Toth, Sarah Toth, Talan Jenkins, Tarryn Jenkins, Tucker Jenkins, John "Jack" Scott, and Harlyn Pitcher.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be at Forest Hills, Palm City on June 16 at 10AM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Treasure Coast Hospice, or the charity of your choice in honor of Vicki Jenkins.
