IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vincent Timothy
Foley
May 29, 1932 – January 24, 2026
Vincent Timothy Foley, 93, of Palm City, Florida, formerly of Orange, Connecticut, passed on January 24, 2026. Tim was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on May 29, 1932 to Vincent V. & Ellen Ryan Foley and grew up on the shores of Long Island Sound in Lordship, Connecticut.
He was the beloved husband of Jean Mullen Foley for 67 years. He is also survived by his children, Alyce Newton (Andy) of Prescott, AZ, Catherine Panza (John) of Stonington, CT, Paul (Kristin) of Orange, CT, Neil of Rio Vista, CA and Sheila Touhey (Andy), of Surprise, AZ. He leaves 7 grandchildren: Emily (Joe), Laura, Michael (Lauren), Will, Mary, John & Michael, along with great-grandchildren Juniper & Vivian, several nieces and nephews, and his caregiver Mona Nonez. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Dardani and Sally Martin. He will be sorely missed by his friends, golfers, sailors, Coffee Club fellows and all of his wonderful neighbors in Palm City.
In 1949 he graduated from Fairfield Prep and in 1953 from the College of the Holy Cross with a BA degree in Political Science. Upon graduating Tim joined the Marine Corps serving for 3 years and afterwards returned to Stratford and met the love of his life Jean Mullen. They married in 1958 and began raising a growing family in Milford and Orange where the ocean was never far away.
Growing up in Lordship, CT Tim was introduced to sailing and racing, and it became a lifelong passion. As a longstanding member of the Milford Yacht Club, he competed in offshore and one design events and in winter was an avid "Frostbite" fleet sailor. He also loved summers with Jean on their boat "Daystar" in Milford where he had many friends at MYC and a home base for New England cruising and trips to the Bahamas and Keys.
Also, a keen golfer, he was never without his clubs nearby and loved watching the game and its champions perform.
His Fairfield prep classmates said it well: "Quiet, soft-spoken, dependable Tim . . . has an effervescent sense of humor…..Tim spends his spare time tinkering with boats . . . quite naturally."
Donations in Tim's name can be made to: Sea Explorer Ship 6, Sea Scout Ship 6 - Norwalk, CT Sailing Scouting Adventure - Support , c/o 783 Stillwater Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
