IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Marie
Galassi
July 21, 1935 – November 16, 2024
Virginia "Ginger" Galassi entered eternal rest on November 16, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on July 21, 1935, in Long Branch, New Jersey, and grew up in Rumson, where she developed a love for the ocean. During her younger years, she was an avid swimmer who found joy in ocean swimming, a passion that mirrored her adventurous spirit.
Ginger attended Rumson High School and later achieved academic success by graduating with honors from Indian River Community College. In 1955, she married Samuel "Poppop" Galassi, the love of her life. Together, they shared a deep bond and a love for travel, especially cruising alongside her brother- and sister-in-law, Lou and Rena Galassi. They also enjoyed skiing trips with their lifelong friends, Tony and Rena Caprioni, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Thomas Brennan, and her husband, Samuel "Poppop" Galassi. She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Gina Licitra; granddaughters Michelle Montone and Christina Licitra; her cherished great-grandchildren: Anthony, Samuel, and Madison; and her brother, Tom Brennan, who remains to carry on her memory. A talented artist, Ginger painted beautiful works of art throughout her life, even while battling macular degeneration. She also shared her love through food, especially her exceptional Sunday sauce, which became a cherished family tradition.
Ginger's life was defined by her kindness, creativity, and devotion to her family. She was the glue that held her loved ones together and the heart of every gathering.
A mass to celebrate Ginger's life will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Stuart, Florida, on Monday, November 25, at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Her legacy of love, warmth, and artistry will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
