IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Walter Richard
Peghi
September 22, 1929 – January 16, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Peghi, who left this world on January 16, 2025, at the remarkable age of 95. Born on September 22, 1929, in New York, Walter lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
A proud army veteran, Walter honorably served his country in World War II as a paratrooper, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to duty and patriotism. Beyond his service, Walter was the ultimate family man, always putting his loved ones first and ensuring their happiness and well-being. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched everyone who knew him. Walter never met a stranger.
Walter shared a lifelong love with his late wife, Ann, who passed away in 2005. Together, they built a beautiful family, starting in NYC then moved to Long Beach, NY and finally to Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Their home was always filled with warmth and love. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Annette, in 2003. He is survived by his older daughter, Nancy, who blessed him with three wonderful grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Walter's grandchildren were a source of immense pride and joy. His oldest grandson, Thomas (and Julie), have five children—Logan, Laci, Lily, Lucas, and Levi. His granddaughter, Tracy (and Jordan), has a daughter, Emmersyn. His grandson, Daniel (and Jessica) have two daughters, Faith and Arielle. Walter treasured his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather, delighting in watching his family grow and thrive.
In addition to his devotion to family, Walter found great joy in the thrill of discovering valuable treasures. He had a keen eye for collecting coins, baseball cards, art, and antiques, often scouring yard sales and auctions in search of hidden gems. His passion for collecting brought him many hours of excitement and adventure.
Walter Peghi's kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family will be forever remembered and cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to honor his memory with the same love and devotion he so freely gave.
A service will be held February 3rd at 11 a.m. to celebrate Walter's life at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, Florida 34990.
